Monday Amenities Post 4

{ Yes, I am aware that today is not Monday. }
I'm late.

John Contino Portfolio

ART:

* Karen Margolis Mixed Media.  Coral reefs, maybe?  Want.
* John Contino Calligraphy Portfolio.  (I love the whale one.)
* Mosaics by Kaffe Fassett and Candace Bahouth.  I want to take a mosaics class!  I found this quote by Fassett especially inspiring: Mosaic is a medium... that can utilize so much that is undervalued or thrown away in our society. The wonderful patterns created by repetition of rubbish-tip items reminds us of elegant ethnic decoration. A simple spoon, key or cup handle repeated acquires a magic, hypnotic musical rhythm. Once people start to play in this simple way, they spot opportunities everywhere. I hope this book can help to free the inner artist in you so you can find joy in expression.

BLOG:

* Sparrow Salvage.  Eco-friendly-artisan blog.

* Lyla and Blu.  Many borrowed-and-found things.
* Floral Scrapbook.  Like a random paste-up journal.

ETSY: Idniama Boutique.  I love her crocheted jewelry.

DIY:

*
Lenore-Nevermore Button Tree.  How funky is that.
* Book-Page Origami Stars.  The perfect Christmas ornaments.
* Magnetic Scrabble Board.  Want.
* Mari Makes Dictionary Lamp-Shade.  I love this.

FILM:  The Spectrum Song.  Ayla (What? Mermaids?) Small-Group Movie. It's adorable.  Watch it.

FOOD:

*
Des Tartes Aux Pommes et du Grand Prix des Blogueuses Elle.  I think this is some kind of apple tart-like pie.  It looks incredibly delicious.
* Red Lentil Soup with Lemon.  I am craving this.

HOME:

*
 Brown Dress with White Dots Bedroom. The most beautiful bedroom I have ever seen.  I will sleep here someday.
* Bradley Duncan Living Room. I love this rustic-meets-modern look.
* Lovely Clusters Work-Space. Imagine if this was your creative space (!)
* A Caravan Kitchen. When I grow up and live in a caravan, this will be my kitchen.  Sparrows and all.

MUSIC: Or rather, the song that has been stuck in my head lately ... Little Wonders, by Rob Thomas.  Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder don't you know, the hardest part is over ... Let it in, let your clarity define you in the end ... we will only just remember how it feels.

PHOTOGRAPHY:

*
Chris Court Photography.  One of my all-time favorite photographers ... peaceful, earthy, thought-provoking.
* Deb Schwedhelm Photography.  Ayla clued me in on this artist and I am hooked.  She captures some of the most beautiful family-oriented life moments I have ever seen.

QUOTES:

Start where you are.  Use what you have.  Do what you can.
- ARTHUR ASHE
Remember, happiness is a way of travel - not a destination.  - ROY GOODMAN
I believe that everyone else my age is an adult whereas I am merely in disguise.  - MARGARET ATWOOD

STYLE:

*
Wild-and-Free Fishtail Braid.  Tim will have to learn how to do this with my hair so the back of my head can look like that.
* Whispering Pines Vintage Turquoise Jewelry.  Gorgeous.
* Pendleton Wool Knit Cape.  Whimsical, warm, elvish (?)

TEXTILES:

*
Spoonflower Fabrics.  I especially love the orange-and-gray floral print.
* Urban Outfitters Pendleton Blanket.  I am in love with this blanket.

... That's all for this week, lovelies!
