Why is it that I am forever finding discarded shoes when walking through Roskilde? Particularly left shoes. If they were all children's footwear, it might make sense. Toddlers in particular are prone to drop their shoes while being carried (I know; I once had to backtrack half-a-mile in search of Isaac's missing sandal). But no. These are mostly adult shoes. How does this happen? What adult in their right mind simply walks out of their left shoe and doesn't notice? Are they inebriated? Do they reach home and think, "Well that's funny. I wondered why my foot was so cold. Should've bothered to look down and see."
I don't get it.
I love life's inexplicable randoms. Thanks for sharing. : )
ReplyDeleteInteresting thoughts. You took the time to notice them, and most people don't.
ReplyDeleteThis is also a Canadian thing. Hugs Karen
ReplyDeleteClearly, Sitch has been there.
ReplyDelete"His destructive programming is taking effect. He will be irresistibly drawn to large cities, where he will back up sewers, reverse street signs, and steal everyone's left shoe."
Heh heh. Also makes me think of the Dragon movie. Trolls are strange creatures, they always steal your socks. But only your left ones!
ReplyDeleteHahaha such a funny observation!
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered this too..
ReplyDeletethat is an odd thing. wow.
ReplyDeleteit's funny the things your notice...here in Australia in certain suburbs you'll see pairs of sneakers hanging from power lines...why is this? I'm not sure and I've always wondered what people were thinking when they threw them up there....strange behaviour world over but good to know it's not just in one place....lol
ReplyDeleteGood observation! In Michigan they have a shoe tree - a massive old tree with literally hundreds of shoes hanging from it. It is very cool to see. Also weird.
ReplyDeletemaybe people throw them out of the window while driving. it gets hot in the car and they think "hey, its hot, what do I need shoes for?" and out they go. plausible? yes? no? :)
