ARTISTS I ADMIRE:
- Audrey Kawasaki. Refreshingly unusual.
- Andre Kohn. I especially love the Period I collection. If I had the mula, I would definitely own a painting or two.
PHOTOGRAPHY-COLLAGE:
- Brooklyn Industries Summer Campaign on Words From The Watertower - I would probably hang these on my wall. Fun fact: the models are actually BKI employees.
TELEVISION: New Girl. Hilarious. Zooey Deschanel is especially quirky in this show (I love her).
FOOD: Five-Layer Greek Dip (hummus, dill, cucumber, olives, feta, red bell pepper = yummm ).
HAIR: Fishtail-Braid - With Color! by A Beautiful Mess. (To any boy-readers: my apologies if this post is a bit too girly, what with the braids and vanity cases and all. I'll try to balance it out with ... something manly ... How about this Mustache Beanie?)
DO IT YO'SELF:
- Book Page Wreath Tutorial (Librarians, Please Avert Your Eyes). Don't get me wrong, I love books. But I also love things made with book pages.
- Upcycled Scarflett. A perfect compromise for us lazies who do not have the patience (or skill?) to knit an entire scarf. Also it's cute.
- Vintage Vanity Case. I love suitcase art. I've loved it ever since I first read White Oleander. But this one is especially spectacular.
BUTTONS: Did you see the new blog buttons I made? (Original art by yours truly.) Feel free to pick one up!
... Just a Note: I've decided to make my artsy link posts a weekly series ... because I love creating them. So, how do Monday's sound? A virtual buffet of creative amenities, or Monday Amenities for short. (Yes, I am aware that today is not Monday. I'll get with the program next week. If I don't forget.)
My sister walked down the aisle to a Sigur Ros song. I can't remember what it is called, but in Icelandic it means little elf or something. she laughs about how random the lyrics are for what she used it for. It was amazing!

ReplyDeleteUmmmm. IF you look at this and there are 3 identical comments from me: sorry! Computer spazz. If not, then never mind :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Television show: New Girl. LOVE it. I hardly ever just sit down to watch tv, but I am not only sitting and watching, I dont have a book in hand while watching. That says something.
ReplyDeleteI have a thing against hummus. Icky. I can't decide if it's a texture thing or a color thing or just what exactly, but if the ingrediants list hummus, I'm outta there. Sad, I know.
