Maison Blunt, Zurich

Loved everything about this Moroccan restaurant in downtown Zurich. The floor tiles, natural lighting, mismatched chairs and soft-wood tabletops, notebook paper menus, blue glass and fresh cut flowers, and the food - oh, the food. So many ideas for my someday coffeehouse.

  1. I love those raw wood tables and mismatched chairs. I remember going to a restaurant in Woodstock. My mom and I were visiting her family (my aunts, uncles, etc) after 10 years of being gone. We went there and the seating was old thrifted tables and mismatched chairs. My extended family was complaining, saying that they have better put together furniture. My mom and I just looked at one another in understanding that we thought it was beautiful. We reveled in the rawness of it all, the art on the walls (that my extended family made sure to point out as 'over priced') and the lovely food.

    1. I think we must have quite a bit in common. :) There's just something so perfect about loved and re-used things ...

  2. Love it. A restaurant in my town has a bunch of miss matched like that and it is called... The Wooden Chair. It is a town staple.
