The Dessert Fork Incident

Yesterday I was hoping to post a V-Log of Roskilde.  Then I discovered just how difficult it can be to make a coherent video.  I want you to see Danish architecture as I see it when out in the streets.  So ... help, anyone?

To compensate (for now),
I took a couple photographs to show how colorful this little town can be.

Red brick buildings.

 A sunflower - doesn't it look like it's on fire?

 Yellow buildings.  This is a very common color here.
Personally, I think it's to make up for the absence of sunlight.

And of course, my kiddo's hair.

On another note (or a few other notes):

* Our Goodbye-Happiness Diet ends tomorrow.  Sort of.  Technically it was supposed to end Monday, but my recent health-kick didn't seem reason enough to spoil a perfectly good weekend.  The point, of course, is all things in moderation.  Plus I've really missed bread.  Which is okay, because I've found "that no matter how many carbs I eat, I always stay thinsk."  (Get Smart)

* Speaking of food, we finally bought a blender and are turning into smoothie addicts.  Mind posting your favorite smoothie recipe in the comments?  Please?

* We've also started making sugar-free chocolate bars.  Here's the recipe (if it qualifies as such), for those of you who'd like to try it: Mix and melt in pan the following ingredients - 2 dl all-natural cocoa, 2 dl milk, 3 tbs. butter, .5 dl all-natural sweetener (I like xylitol).   Pour into dish and let harden in freezer.  Or keep hot and pour on sugar-free vanilla ice cream.  I actually prefer this over regular Hershey bars.

* The illustrations I've been working on are almost finished.   That is to say, the painting part of the process is almost complete.  I'm on the final frame right now.  Next week I will design the cover, and then I hope to get these things scanned and edited in Illustrator by Christmas.  But we'll see.  If you are experienced in the field of vectorization, I'd very much appreciate your input.  I haven't got a clue what I'm doing, but by George I'm doing it.  (Or Tim is doing it?)

* A quote you might like: We are not the same person this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person. - William Somerset Maugham(Thanks, Ames!)

* One last thing before I go ... my friend Ayla over at What? Mermaids? recently introduced me to the world of Marc Johns and naturally I had to share via the blog.  (If you do not have a quirky and occasionally wacky sense of humor, you will not appreciate these sketches.) These were a couple of my favorites:  The Dessert-Fork Incident and He Had Two Left Wings.

* I hope you laugh.

    smoothie ingredients: add carrots, spinach, and ground flax seed to anything and you won't be able to taste it. adding ginger makes it spicy, which is nice in moderation. you could also try beets, but i've only had them juiced, not blended (maybe too starchy for smoothies?).
