Umbrellas Would Not Help At All

Things that are threatening to drive me insane:

  • Isaac, who figured out how to take out the electrical outlet plugs.
  • Isaac, who is teething (his sixth: top left).
  • Isaac, who finds it amusing to open my drawer and throw my clothes on the floor.
  • Isaac, who has discovered he likes to chew on the windowsill (and eat the paint).

Latest mistake:

  • Painting my entire living room with Satin instead of Eggshell. Third coat soon to follow.

Frustrating mishap:

  • The transmission in my car is shot. (Yes, I am referring to my Intrepid, purchased hardly more than a year ago. Apparently I will never escape the Kough Destiny of always owning broken vehicles: it's not our lot, it's our life.)

Reading:

  • Three, by Ted Dekker
  • How To Make An American Quilt, by Whitney Otto

Quote (from Otto):

  • Such a corrosive rain as on venus would be one of the most potent and destructive fluids in the solar system. It would burn away human flesh in a matter of minutes. Umbrellas would not help at all.

Watching:

  • Friends, Season 8
  • Phoebe, telling someone how to spell her name: "Oh, P as in Phoebe, H as in Hoebe, O as in Oebe, E as in Ebe, B as in Be, and E as in 'Ello Mate!"
  • The Tudors, Season 2

My band's schedule:

  • Friday, June 20th: Hippy Fest on the Ocoee River, TN. 7 pm.
  • Saturday, June 21st: Joe's. 5 pm.

  1. I read this and thought- wouldn't it be terrible if a publisher said this to you? (or to anyone)

"From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it."
